St. Thomas the Apostle received notice that the result of the most recent
accreditation renewal visit has produced a full six-year term extension of
accreditation through June 2017.

The visit in March 2011 was the culmination of several years of self-study
during faculty meetings and discussions seeking ways we can improve as a
school. Under the direction of the school administration, the results of the self-
study were gathered in a School report that was reviewed by WASC
Accrediting Commission along with the formal Report of the Visiting Team.
The Commission then voted upon a term of renewal.

The Commission noted in their letter to the St. Thomas the Apostle School
community: "Members of the commission studied the report of the Visiting
Committee noting the stellar aspects of the school." As a result St. Thomas the
Apostle received the FULL six-year term requesting only a written report at the
end of the third year.

Concurrently, the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA) reviews the
reports and submits approval for renewal of accreditation as an authentic
catholic school.


    It was wonderful news to receive just as school is about to begin!
